Water-based, biobased and biodegradable printing inks for textiles
Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the most promising biobased and biodegradable polymers on the market. Besides extrusion coating for paper and cardboard, there exist little to no commercial examples of coating or ink formulations based on PLA. Centexbel developed a novel method to prepare low cost water-based dispersions of PLA, which include the use of different plasticisers.
Circular textile value creation by networking digital textile microfactories
The presentation will explain how digital textile printing as one core process for textile value creation is embedded into a digital textile microfactory. Focus is to seamless information flow from design to CAD, CAM, printing, cutting and sewing for small series of clothing on demand. By networking with other microfactories and textile productions systems, the future circular textile value creation will become reality.
